When I saw these cacti I found it interesting how mostly, they all looked the same, but there was one that stood out.
I couldn’t decide it it looked happy or if I should let the 12-year old in me take over and find it kind of dirty. In any case that one cactus, once that flower bloomed fully, will completely stand out in that crowd of cacti.
Go ahead and get yourself ready to bloom and stand out in a crowd!

One of the enjoyments I used to get when I had to drive between Lorain, Ohio, and the Chicago area was seeing a shed, on the side of the road, near Toledo, Ohio.
On the back of the shed was a giant smiley face. Every time I saw it, I smiled.
I’m not sure if it’s still there as I haven’t made that trip in a while, but this picture will live on here, and in my mind, until my time is done.

I was on my first teleconference the other day during this shelter at home period. Okay, it was actually a scheduled, virtual Happy Hour between coworkers. It was kind of fun, but made me a little more self-conscious of how I looked knowing my face might pop up on everyone’s screen at any given time.
I suppose as time goes by that concern will change, but this time I cared. I brushed my hair, made sure I didn’t have any food in my teeth, and dressed appropriately.
I’m thinking next time I might still brush my hair, but maybe I’ll wear my robe.

Maybe I’ve heard the term, “You can pick your friends. You can pick your nose. But you can’t pick your friend’s nose.” one too many times. For whatever reason, when I see a statue, I tend to pick its nose.
Yup, I’m weird.
In any case maybe next time you need to pick something, you might want to step back and think about the consequences.

While the Coronavirus, the Covid-19, or whatever people want to call it are ramping up your anxiety, do yourself a favor and just turn off the world for a little bit.
Don’t just put your phone down and take a nap or go to bed, turn that phone off if that anxiety is getting to you. Your mind needs the rest and by turning it off your mind will know it can slow down. It won’t be listening for a notification, it won’t wonder if a “ding” is coming because your phone is off.
Trust me, the world will still be here a few hours from now.

On a wonderful visit to The Big Island, Hawaii, we took a trip to Punaluʻu Beach, also known as “The Black Sand Beach.”
It was a weird place, especially for me who is used to normal beaches and normal sand. There were turtles, which was cool, but the black sand was really the draw, especially if you have never seen a beach of black sand.
The oddest thing, especially as I started taking pictures, was most everything beach related, i.e, water and beach, appeared to be in black and white. While taking a picture of the waves coming in there was this little girl, off in the distance, in a red shirt and white pants.
The contract of her colorfullness to the black and whiteness of the beach was wonderful.
In a world that can get bland and boring, go ahead and add some color to make the world a better place.

People can make the strangest of faces at times. So can the animals. When this nubian goat was looking my way I didn’t know if it was just looking goofy or was curious what I was doing.
Don’t worry if you might look goofy when you are curious, it’s better to be curious and goofy than not curious at all. Then you are just goofy.
